My partner and I are considering moving to Leytonstone and it would be really great if we could get some views on the area from people who live there. I’d particularly like to know how people find it with regards to crime. I haven’t visited at night yet – is it mostly safe to walk from the rail/tube stations to and from residential areas? Are there any areas it’s better to avoid (at night at least)? I also wondered if it’s changed much over the years and what peoples favourite/least favourite things about living there are. Thanks very much. Happy New Year!

      Hi Fiona,

      I hope your well.

I have worked in Leytonstone for the past 4 years. I have never had any trouble. I work to till 7:30 -8 some times and never feel threatened.

The area has started to change, not only property prices but more people like yourself are moving to the area. The transport links, cafes, pubs and friends bringing their friends to area has made Leytonstone a very nice place to live.

If you do need any help and more information please give me a call at my office on 020 8539 1194

      Hope that helps.

Hi, I’m not sure if this is your area, but thought I’d enquire anyway.
We have a very unscrupulous freeholder who is always coming up with extra items to add to the service charge. We have queried the cost of some of this ‘maintenance’ and a few of us leaseholders in the property have got together to start the process of getting legal advice.

I know that in Walthamstow, the Resident’s Association has been very active in fighting these large Freeholder companies (ours is called R.A. Management). I thought it would be worth getting in touch to see if others in Leytonstone have this same Freeholder and to find out other’s experience.

    Many thanks.

Hello, I’m a journalist from the Evening Standard and I’m looking into the flower bed that has been ripped up outside the Tesco store in Leytonstone. I just wanted to know a bit more about who planted it, and what it was used for. I have heard that the patch was used as a remembrance day memorial, can you tell me about that? Also, do you know what’s going to happen with it now? Please send me an email if you have any information on this.

Hi, I am a local resident, have been all my life. I tried to join FORA tonight, twice, but somehow I can’t process annual payment through PayPal – please advise? Is there another way to pay? Thanks in advance!
